I'm Too Broke To Pay Tithes

Hello beautiful people!

I can't count the times people have said to me "I don't make enough money to pay tithes," or "I live on a fixed income so I can't pay tithes", or the famous "I can't even pay my bills how am I going to pay tithes?"

If they were all trying to convince me that they don't have a lot of extra money lying around waiting to be spent, well... they did it. I'm convinced. Hey, who am I to argue with them? In fact, I am in TOTAL agreement.

How can I, of all people, preach about prosperity and be in agreement with people who say they are to broke to pay tithes?

Well, they made my point for me. Consider this for just a moment: What if the reason you are too broke to pay tithes is because you don't pay tithes?

See what I did there?  Which came first, the chicken or the egg?  Of course, we know by reasoning it out that the chicken came first, or there would be NO egg. If the egg came first, there would be no chicken to hatch it out. Stick with me, I'm going somewhere with this, I promise.

Remember this scripture?

1 Kings 17:8-16 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her , did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

There are at least 2 things people miss here. First, she was scared. We know this because Elijah said "Fear not." We know that her situation was dire, and it is my personal belief that she cried out to God during this time to save her and her son.

Second, they were already dying of starvation. She was going to take a hand full of meal, make a cake, eat it with her son and then die. She was already starved to the point of being one meal away from death.

Elijah being the mouth and man of God told her, "You know what? Since I am a man of God and it looks like you are a dire situation here, you are just too poor to give me food. If you make me a cake you won't have any left, and it's going to make you and your son die sooner rather than later. You just keep it for yourself."

NO! That's not what he said at all. He told her to feed him first, then go make a cake for her and her son. She followed his instructions knowing it was God speaking to her. She gave her last meal.

Now I don't now about you, but I don't know if I would be so fast to give up my last meal. If it was my son's last meal? That's a whole 'nother level.

Let me ask you a question. Was she too broke to give? Was it required of her anyway?

Why?

In a short answer, it's because God gave dominion of the earth to Adam and Adam gave dominion over to Satan.

Satan can not multiply. Satan causes everything around him to die or decrease. God, on the other hand, multiplies everything.

God requires a person to retake dominion over the cursed item, and then place that cursed item into His Kingdom so He can cause it to multiply.

When God gets ready to give you something that you have asked Him for, it will look like this example.

Let me recap for you: a woman is starving - God sends a man of God to her door to be fed - the woman feeds the man of God - God feeds all of them until the famine was over.

I need you to understand that zero tithe and offering equals zero return.

A handful of meal from a woman and son starving to death turns into "The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth."

Wow, what a rate of return on her investment.

Here's an idea, beautiful people. Test out Malachi 3:11 and see what your rate of return is.
