Breakthrough, Breakthrough, Breakthrough

I remember seeing person after person getting their breakthrough. Truly I don’t know if I did this knowingly or unknowingly but I know I asked the question at least once.

“When is mine coming?”

“When am I going to get breakthrough?”

Breakthrough wouldn’t be half as significant if you could make it happen yourself. But since it HAS to come from God….

….. it can be a tad bit frustrating (by a tad I mean a ton!!)

I remember being desperate for something to break open for us. I was tithing, giving offerings, sowing seeds all the things I know to do. It still seemed like t-i-m-e was moving s-o-o-o-o  s-l-o-o-o-w and no matter what I did I could not make it happen.

I found out quickly, you just can’t make a breakthrough happen before it’s time.

        ….Why?

Because the truth...

The Blue Funk

The Blue Funk

 Psalm 126

A song of ascents.

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.

Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”

The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.

Restore our fortunes, Lord,
    like streams in the Negev.

Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.

Those who go out weeping,
    carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
    carrying sheaves with them.

Sowing seeds is a joyous occasion. There is nothing sad about sowing seed. It takes no more work than reaping. The days can be beautiful with great excitement of...

Pack Your Bags, You're Coming Out

Now I know that you must be thinking.

“Where are we going?”

“What do I need to pack?”

“Who are you?”

Good questions. So let me start first with who I am. I am a believer in Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection. That makes me a child of God. When Jesus left this earth He named me as an heir to God’s Kingdom. So, my Beautiful People, I have access to far above anything you could ever ask or imagine.

So. On to the next question. Where we are going? If you’re a Christian then you’re part of the kingdom just like I am. It’s not where we’re going but where you’re going. You are headed into your promised land. You have been in Egypt way too long.

Egypt is not a place, it’s a way of thinking. Egypt represents debt, bondage, and slave wages.  Your promise is living in the fullness of your calling, which brings prosperity.

Now, money is not your destination. If it were you wouldn’t...

You Qualify

Hey Beautiful People!

If you’ve ever applied for a loan, “You qualify” are magical words to hear. Especially if it’s one that you think is going to take you into financial freedom.  After all, why wait until you have the cash to buy something when you can have it all and have it all right now?

If you’ve ever applied for any type of loan, whether it be for a credit card, a new car or a home loan,  I’m sure at some point you’ve heard or read the words “You Qualify.”

We accept all of these credit offers because, after all, they tell us that we are worthy of the loan. Because we qualify.

We want to be acknowledged, accepted and appreciated, and for someone to say we matter is so rare these days that when someone says we do, we jump at the chance to say “Why yes, yes I do.”

Most days we are made to feel awful about who we are, so to make ourselves feel better and relieve some of the stress of everyday life we...

Huh? What did you say?

Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:15-16 NKJV)

It’s obvious to the apostle Paul, in this Scripture, the importance of revelation knowledge from the Lord. When God reveals to you a truth from His Word, that revelation always causes you to have an “Aha” moment. That truth brings peace to your soul like a cool drink of water on a hot day.

Jerry Sevelle puts it this way:

Revelation knowledge of the Word of God determines how you react to the situations you are currently facing. For instance, do you really believe that …

  • You are special to God?
  • You are God’s most prized possession?
  • You are washed by the blood of Jesus from every sin,...

If I Had A Million Dollars

$1,000,000

Wow, that’s a lot of money. What I would do if I had a million dollars?

No, actually that’s really not enough. What I really need is to win the lottery. Man, now that’s where the real money is.

Have you ever said that to yourself? I must confess, Beautiful People, I thought for a lot of years that I had a money problem and that the lottery would solve it all. It’s something everybody thinks about at some point.

But there is evidence that says differently. People win the lottery all the time and are right back where they started within 5 years. Athletes become rich only to lose it all by the end of their careers. Basically, money tends to come and go for most people.

My son and I were having this conversation today, and being the genius I know him to be, he asked this question.

Which one of these would you rather have? $1,000,000 right now, or exact change for what ever you bought for the rest of your life?

That got my brain firing on...

Lights, Camera, Action

Hello Beautiful People.

Do you ever feel like you’re in a bad movie? Like you're just waiting for the director to yell “Cut! That’s a wrap!”

Sometimes it feels like somebody wrote you into a terrible script and you’re just waiting for the happy ending where you wake up from a coma and win the lottery, then everything turns around for you and you live happily ever after.

Remember Groundhog Day? Every morning Bill Murray’s character woke up to the exact same day, every day. Day after day after day for over 30 years. He finally learned that in order to come out of that day he had to make different choices.

Well, Beautiful People, that is exactly where I was. I was working in a job and every day seemed like a repeat of yesterday. Each day was basically the same day except for a few minor details. It was exhausting

I think that is where they got the joke about “I owe, I owe so off to work I go.” You get the...

Prosperity Preachers Say What?

Hey Beautiful People!

One of the questions I’m most often asked (or more accurately, confronted with) is “Are you one of those prosperity preachers?” Or phrased a different way: "Don't tell me you are a prosperity preacher."

I'm like "Nah, I believe in being poor for the Lord. Since you do too, why don't you give me all your money?” That miiiight be a little too sarcastic, but I think it’s funny.

Christian people seem to have a tendency to believe in being poor when they’re giving an offering but themselves being rich when they go shopping. Have you ever noticed how some people pat themselves on the back for giving $20 in an offering, or leaving more than 10% for a tip but when it comes to their shopping brag about that purse they spent $100 on? “Girl, this thing was $300. I got it for a steal and only gave $100 for it.”

Of course that's not you, beautiful people. You would...

Freedom

With the 4th of July coming up, I've been thinking this week about freedom.

Of course you're blessed to live in a free country, but there's a higher level of freedom too. Nothing compares to the freedom that God gives when He takes you out of the bondage of sin. He sets you free from the slavery you are under because of the control the enemy has over your life.

But then...

God goes one step further...

He gives you the power to do the same things that Jesus did as you preach the good news to the poor.

And just as it's important to protect your freedom on earth, you have to stay vigilant against the things in the spirit that would try to take your freedom away from you.

Luke 4:18-19

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight...

Man In The Mirror, Give Me Back My Money

Hello, beautiful people!

I've got a question for you.

 Psalm 37: 21 The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;

Which one are you? Answer honestly.

The best way to introduce you to the man in the mirror (you know, the one that has all your money) is by judging your life through God's word. It's the only thing that reveals who we truly are.

Generous giving? Now that's a thought. Most people have been so manipulated about giving that they are simply burned out.

With all the "Give ME your $33.33 and you will be rolling in the dough" that's spewed out it's a wonder people give at all. This kind of giving may get you free pizza (see what I did there? pizza - rolling in the dough? Whatever, I'm hilarious.) but it will not get you a real harvest.

Generous giving is a concept that has been studied very little but has been exploited to no end. So let's research it for just a bit.

Generous - showing a readiness to give more of...
